Occupation: teacher
Marital Status: Committed Relationship No. of Children: 2 Comments: Wow how time flies! It is so nice to read about how everyone is doing and where they are in their lives. I was so excited to hear about the reunion this summer and was planning on coming but I will be getting married the weekend before and will be on my honeymoon the weekend of the reunion. So it is bittersweet - I will miss getting to talk with old friends but am starting a new chapter in my life. I would love to hear and catch up with those I knew in high school so please e-mail me. As for the last 20 years.... after university I moved out east and taught Band and Science in Lougheed for 15 years. I have two kids, a boy 11 yrs and a girl 8 yrs. After being single again for a while, I met my now fiance and we moved to Lacombe last summer where I am subbing in the schools here and loving every minute of it. My kids keep me very busy and I try to keep myself involved in music by teaching lessons and playing in the local jazz band. I have kept in touch with a few friends from high school but lost track of many when I moved out to the middle of nowhere. Hope you have a good time at the reunion ! Send This Person a Message |

Occupation: Photo/Electronic Manager
Marital Status: Single Again Comments: Wow 20 years has passed and I still feel like I'm 20!!! I keep wondering how many from Class of '87 will almost be grandparents - UGH!!!! Well, I haven't started to reproduce, nor do I think I ever will. However, I do have a great niece that is 2 years old and I often think of her as my own. I was married in 1990 and moved to Vancouver in 1994 -- end of marriage -- now happily single. I have spent most of those 20 years working and travelling - trying to find a new place to go every year - but I keep returning back to many of the old places too -- thus the minimum 4 vacations per year -- I think that's what keeps me sane!! Anyways, living in Vancouver for now -- my plans are to move to Florida, watch Spring Training baseball (Perhaps even coach the Blue Jays - they could really use me :) ) and retire where it is nice and warm -- but I'll probably stay here for a few more years. Can't wait for August to see everyone - it's been a long time. Send This Person a Message |

Occupation: General Manager
Website: www.vellner.com Marital Status: Married No. of Children: 2 Comments: Hello all. I think I feel the same way as most...where has 20 years gone. I have been employed at Vellner Leisure Products in Red Deer since September of 1987 and am currenlty General Manager. I love my job and thoroughly enjoy all of the travelling it allows. I have a staff of 35 fantastic people and going to work each day is a great joy. My husband, Jamie, works overseas for Halliburton. We just recently celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary. We have two boys, Cole who is 15 and Tanner who is 13. They are definately the highlight of my life. I am disappointed to not be able to attend the reunion as Tanner's first football game of the season is during the pancake breakfast everyone will be enjoying and the evening of the 25th consists of a yearly staff pool party function that I must attend. It was a thrill to see the names and pics on the site and wish all great happiness as we head towards our (ugh) 30th reunion. If ever you want to stop in at Vellner's and say Hi, please do. Occupation: Cytotechnologist (MLT)
Marital Status: Married No. of Children: 3 Comments: I knew this day was coming...20 yrs doesn't seem so long ago for me. There are the little reminders that tell me I'm not just out High School. I recently purchased a new bicycle from a bike shop in Saskatoon - first thing, what happened to just the old ten speed bikes with the curly ram bike handles? Why is a good bike over $600 CDN and they take half the seat away? Whatever! I buy my bike and I get a lovely T-shirt because the bike shop is celebrating 20 yr anniversary. I say to the dude, "Cool 1987, I graduated HS the same year!" The guy just looked at me, paused, and questioned, "Really?!?" I think it was beacuse I used the interjection, "cool" which didn't compute with him. I must learn to use the new word "dope" more frequently. At the 10 yr reunion, I was in the process of divorce - and I survived. I did not think I would remarry, I planned on just being with my cat and living in my apartment. But in 1998, I did marry a really dope fellow; moved to his acreage, and we had three very dear children born: 2000, 2002 and 2004. We have moved off the acreage and live in Saskatoon proper. I work in the same hospital and do the same job for the past 11 years. My job is so dope! Cancer screening and its pathology is very interesting and challenging, although I could do with a little less drama from some of my co-workers. Pathologists can be a cranky lot! Life is otherwise good. Take care; perhaps see some of you in August for the reunion. Send This Person a Message |

Occupation: Paralegal
Marital Status: Committed Relationship No. of Children: 1 Comments: Wow!! Where did the past 20 years go?? After high school I worked at a hardware store in Red Deer for about 3 years and quickly realized that working with the public definitely wasn't for me so off to Red Deer College I went. I graduated spring of '92 with my Legal Assistant diploma (now usually called "Paralegal"). I then moved to Whitehorse, YT where I got a really good job and enjoyed living there - met lots of great people. My son, Riley, was born in Whitehorse in the summer of '98 - as a single Mom I felt it was the time to move "south" to be closer to my immediate family so I made the big leap and moved to Vancouver (living in Tsawwassen actually and working downtown Vancouver) in December, 99. Eventually I met my "spouse" Bill in spring of '03. Life is hectic with an active son but it keeps me out of trouble! Unfortunately I won't be at the reunion but have a BLAST! Occupation: Technical Specialist -
Acid Engineering Marital Status: Single Comments: Can't believe it's already been 20 years... time definitely flies especially after you turn 30. I've been in Calgary for the last 4 years. I left Red Deer in 1995 to go to SAIT. Then went up North to work and then headed down to Mexico where I spent 2 years over the next 3 year period.... kind of a back and forth adventure... I now work for an Oil & Gas service company in downtown Calgary. Looking forward to the reunion and catching up there! Send This Person a Message |
